Let's kick this off

Welcome to those of you brave enough to subscribe to my first actual Personal newsletter, where we get a chance to chat outside of the whole YouTube world that I’ve been diving into these past few months.

At time of writing this, I’ve just finished a busy week of scripting some new videos for the channel which are likely to be posted in a couple of weeks. I also created 5 videos and started on some downloadable resources for my IT Coaching Course. Thursday was a full day of 1:1 Coaching, and then Friday, which is just a mess of phone calls, emails and random bits that I really should catch up on.

Oh, and on Wednesday this week I got some impressions taken of my ears to get some new In Ear Monitors custom made, because my new IEMs just didn’t fit as well as the last. Photo below of the weird things you have to go through for those!

Since it’s the first newsletter, I think I’ll start off by saying what a CRAZY year 2021 has been for me so far.

Coming out the other end of selling my business, which was very hard work whilst working pretty much 8am to midnight every day, with some breaks for food and time with the family - to now running 3 businesses (YouTube, Coaching and Video Agency) where I truly get to set my own boundaries.

Having run my IT Business before, I’m very aware of being strict with my time, so I really hope I can continue this as long as I can!

I’m at the stage now where I’m looking to hire some full time people to help get through everything, and I’m also really enjoying receiving support from YouTube legends such as Ali Abdaal and Liron Segev who I’m regularly speaking to as I try to improve the quality of my content. Hopefully you will see the fruits of that soon!

Headphones - The Sony WF-1000XM4’s are incredible. After a quick trip on a plane to Leeds this week, I tried these in ears and compared them to my Airpods and the over ear XM4’s and it’s incredible how much better the WF’s are at noise cancellation. I posted a video about these headphones yesterday, but didn’t get a chance to include that information in the video.

Books - My head is full of YouTube things at the moment. I’m currently reading Derral Eves ‘The YouTube Formula which is incredibly eye opening and provides an absolute tonne of detailed statistics behind creating better content. Again, something I hope you see in coming videos!
