Welcome to December! 🎄
With TechTober now out of the way (phew!) - and a Tech filled November, I’m looking forward to December slowing down a little so I can start to plan for what next year is going to bring!
And plans are already in full swing! haha.
The studio, slash office, slash boys room is getting redecorated. After spending a full year shooting in this room, it’s time to spend a little TLC and just refresh the space - I don’t know about you, but I always find that having a chance to rearrange things, or to work in a new space can really inspire you whilst working. Rather than things becoming stale after a while.
I’ve been looking at getting some dedicated office space, but each time I look I keep reminding myself that we used to spend over £4,000 per month on rent in my last business. Then you have heating and utilities, and recycling, and then the overheads just start adding up - so I’m not going there just yet.
Also a few weeks ago I started a Podcast with a few friends of mine from the IT Business space. It’s more for IT Business owners, but yesterday it was all about productivity, and it turned a little into personal and mental health - and I learnt a lot! In fact, the most interesting part happened after the live stream.
Recently I’ve started using a Journal to try and work on improving one thing each week. Anything from getting up (and actually being awake!) earlier, spending more time with the kids, making an effort to get in touch with friends. It’s actually been a really good prompt for me - even with all of the tech I use, I’m finding having a physical wad of paper that I flick through and jot notes into really satisfying. And it only takes 5-10 minutes each day to flick through and plan tomorrow or check things off from today.
In other news, I’ve also started waking up with a headache every day for the last week (No, it’s not the ‘rona!) and now I’m thinking about whether I should try and sort my health out a bit. I’ve stopped going to the Gym due to some work commitments (which finish at the end of next week!) and I’m not eating well. So yeah, there’s my challenge to beat for December (The month where… ALL the turkey and chocolate happen… !!) So that’s going to be a fun one.
Also - Hello to each one of the now 45 Subscribers! I had no idea anybody was interested enough to actually sign up, so thank you 🙏🏼. I’m not going to spam you, and hopefully you stick around for a while longer.
Have a great Christmas and I’ll see you all in … 2022 (WHAAAT!?)
